If you love photography (oh i love the grainy visuals, and the monochrome touch!)
If you love to experience a more than two-hour visual feast
GO ahead, reserve/ get that friggen' ticket and watch in a nice movie house. And I mean, NICE moviehouse. Do not deprive your eyes of a visual orgasm.
This movie is based on Frank Miller's graphic novel, and of course 300 refers to the number of elite soldiers the famous Spartan King Leonidas brought against the hundreds of thousands of Persians at the Battle of Thermopylae. The awesome part in this movie is the actual discipline and competence shown by the Greek Phalanx in a battle. Very impresssssive!
Quite rare to find myself in an audience that shows appreciation for a good movie, we ended up clapping our hands after the last scene (one of the many reasons why I still choose GB3 as my fave cinema, i like the audience ^_^) was shown.
Hmn...I still am speechless. I wanna watch it again

my unfortunate gripe is that it should made me cry at least. or maybe i wasn't in the mood? yeah the setting was CGI but it was spectacular.

" Syempre di mawawala ang pang-okray ko. Number 1, yung hunchback. Damuhong hunchback yan, si quasimodo atang gustong bumalik sa showbiz. Number 2, masyadong digitized yung background. Sobrang fantasy tuloy ang labas ng story. Number 3, napaka-macho masyado nung 300. Wala lang, inggit lang ako sa well-toned body nila. Lastly, yung mga priest para sa old gods. Leche, kung gaano kapangit, sobrang swerte nila sa mga oracles. Putsa, isipin mo Ms. Universe ang mga beauty ipapalapa mo lang sa mga may ketong. Kaya paglaki ko, gusto ko maging priest ng Sparta. CGI is great, it's so good it won't make you puke even if blood is scattered all around LOL! imagine mo naman kasi since bata sila wala silang ginawa kundi maging soldiers. parang pag nakita mo yung mga Special Forces ng US, halos pare pareho sila ng katawan (ang mamacho, yung katawan ni Matt Damon sa Borne Identity mga ganun yung katawan nila) and ang gupit.....parang magkakamukha na silang lahat.
Of course, this is a movie...there's a bit of an exaggeration....and i wont mind seeling soldiers in leather briefs. ahahahahah~ |
