 For the first 10 "Chapters", all you hear is the call "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World." Then Chapter 11 moves forward with the words wringing "Are you on the list?" If you are familiar of these phrases, then you are watching one of the hottest TV series in the US today - Heroes.
Maybe I am already late discovering the show, since I haven't been watching TV the past months. First time I have heard of this was from my Boss. Then came this blinking avatar on a website. I am not certain whether a cable channel here in the Philippines has started airing the show. (Starworld ?) Till I started watching Episode 1. And the rest is a history...of sleeping two late nights,watching marathon of episodes 1-14. Hopefully tonight, I will be able to reach episode 17, before NBC airs its 18th episode in the US next week.
I like it because Tim Kring's creation appeals to those who grew up reading comic books of superheroes and mutants. It also appeals to sci-fi fanatics and the tastes of paranormal activities. And how the mysteries unfold each series would make you crave for the next episode, and the next, and the next...and before you know it, you started wanting the next episodes.
“Heroes” is a serial saga about people all over the world discovering that they have superpowers and trying to deal with how this change affects their lives.
I will not introduce each "Hero" character here. In fact, I will even discourage you when you intend "to google" info about the show, not until you have started a few episodes. You know why? It's actually cool to watch their superpower abilities unfold before your eyes, somehow reminds you of this "mutant" or "comic book" character, this time in a very realistic manner.
There were other TV series in the past that attempted to have this storyline. But what makes this more interesting to me is uncertain as well. It's a mystery. Maybe I just miss The X-Files. Maybe its the way Tim Kring supervises the show. Or simply the interesting theory here on human evolution.
Interesting, isn't it? Next episode please.
