Aside from Transformers and Voltes-V, I remember watching Robotech regularly when I was a kid. I've to admit though, I am not an avid follower as compared to other people I know - who followed the Robotech saga up to the books.

Remember Rick Hunter?

I remember watching Robotech over at GMA 7 every late afternoon. Then I begin to reminisce the roller-coaster love story of - Rick, Lisa Hayes and Lynn Minmei. I remember watching Macross episodes which were shown in the 1980's but not the succeeding episodes of The Sentinels.

Here's the good news: Tobey Mcguire will produce and star (as Rick Hunter) in the Robotech Live-Action movie.

I can't wait to see it. After Transformers, I am pretty sure they will be able to show these mechas (robotic machine) impressively thru CGI.

I just have second-thoughts on Tobey being Rick though. He's too associated to Spiderman character. I don't know. Let's see.

No news yet on who's directing and when the movie will be released.

Rant: I'm skeptical about Maguire. Maybe he could pull off young and naive, but he's far from the image of Rick Hunter I know.

Rave: This is generally a great idea! Is very curious who they will cast for Minmei and Lisa Hayes.

i love the macross/robotech saga......i have the complete books! grabe ang galing..... sana nga matapos na agad eto kasi gusto ko na mapanood hehehe...

bingo! kaso will they try to fit the whole macross saga into just one movie? ang corny naman kung ganun gagawin nila.

speaking of battle scenes, the one single scene i would LOVE to see in the macross saga part would be the daedalus maneuver

can't wait to see the veritechs, hovertanks, and cyclones in the movie
